These disorders affect their behaviors and reactions.Psychology can be divided into three areas - genetics, environment and behavior. In genetics, people inherit physical traits that are influenced by genes and are passed on to future generations. Behavior can be classified into three main areas: physiological, psychological and social. Physiological is focused on how the body functions and is affected by the environment. Psychological is based on how people respond to stimuli and react to emotional or motivational concerns.The cause of psychological problems is yet to be found. There is no concrete solution yet. To treat behavioral problems, there are many behavioral specialists in the field, who can help individuals with learning and behavior issues.Psychological types of disorders include depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, eating disorders, personality disorders, sleep disorders, mood disorders, autism, schizophre nia, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), substance abuse, and multiple personality disorder. Psychologists are usually not doctors. Rather, they conduct research and clinical research for the benefit of their patients. Psychologists perform the basic medical functions of a doctor, however they work in the field of psychology. Most psychiatrists specialize in different types of disorders, which include psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical psychologists, psychiatrist, psychologist, and general practitioner.General practitioners have extensive training on behavioral disorders. A general practitioner may refer patients to psychiatrists or psychologists for special diagnoses. General practitioners may not specialize in particular disorders, depending on the kind of practice he or she is engaged in. General practitioners must have a high level of training on clinical psychology, including evidence-based guidelines on diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders. Patients can be referr ed to mental health centers or non-profit organizations.If a patient needs further medical care, a specialist referred by a general practitioner would be required. However, these doctors are not always the best choice because they are unable to diagnose a specific disorder in many cases. The only way to treat these disorders is to perform a specific type of therapy, which is only available at specialized clinics.
